Sindhya Kirpalani (born July 10, 1982) is a New Zealand-based professional known for her work as a software delivery lead, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. She holds the title of Mrs. New Zealand 2024, which she uses as a platform to advocate for social causes, particularly child welfare and mental health.
Early Life and Education
Sindhya Kirpalani was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. She obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and Communications from Madurai Kamaraj University and later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in HR and Operations at Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirappalli.
She also earned certifications in Mindfulness Coaching, Breathwork Practice, and Dance Movement Therapy, complementing her work in wellness and personal development.
Career
Sindhya began her professional journey as an engineer at Sony Electronics, gaining technical expertise before transitioning into leadership roles. She became a prominent Agile Evangelist and software delivery lead, spearheading projects that enhanced business efficiency and customer experience.
As an entrepreneur, Sindhya owns the Wedge Juice Bar, which was named "Juice Bar of the Year" (2020/21) by the New Zealand Prestige Awards. She also founded Solehues, a wellness platform integrating neuroscience, spirituality, and mindfulness practices to improve mental well-being.
Pageantry
Sindhya won the title of Mrs. New Zealand 2024, becoming the first woman of Indian origin to achieve this recognition. She also won Mrs. India Worldwide - New Zealand 2024. During the competition, she showcased a national costume inspired by the tūī bird, symbolizing her resilience and connection to New Zealand.
She is set to represent New Zealand at the Mrs. Globe 2025 pageant in Shenzhen, China.
Advocacy and Philanthropy
Sindhya is actively involved in social causes, particularly child welfare, mental health, and environmental sustainability. Her initiatives include:
