Prof. Dr. Anshuman Naik is an Indian diabetologist and healthcare entrepreneur. He is the founder and Chief Diabetologist of the Sweet Life Diabetic’s Care & Research Center in Rourkela, Odisha. He is known for his work in lifestyle-based diabetes management and telemedicine-supported treatment models.[1]

Early life and education

Prof. Dr. Anshuman Naik was born in Rourkela, Odisha. He completed his MBBS and MD, followed by PGDF Medicine from Christian Medical College, Vellore.[2]

He further completed advanced certifications in Clinical Endocrinology, Diabetes, Thyroid Disorders, Obesity Management, and Sexual Medicine. He also undertook the Advanced Management of Diabetes program from Harvard Medical School.[3]

Career

On 9 August 2012, Dr. Naik founded the Sweet Life Diabetic’s Care & Research Center in Rourkela.[4] The centre provides treatment for diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity, PCOS, post-menopausal conditions, and other metabolic disorders.

He is associated with promoting telemedicine-supported diabetes management through digital consultation platforms. His treatment philosophy emphasizes lifestyle modification, dietary regulation, structured physical activity, yoga practices, and the use of cost-effective generic medicines.[5]

According to media reports, he has treated more than one lakh patients across India and has supported diabetes awareness initiatives in Sundergarh district of Odisha.[6]

Fellowships and recognitions

Dr. Naik received a fellowship from the Euro-Asian Academy of Clinical Diabetology at an event held in Mumbai.[7]

He has also reportedly received an honorary doctorate from a university in the United States.[8]
