Dr. Jitu Lal Meena (born 1 June 1971) is an Indian medical professional, hospital administrator and healthcare quality expert. He is recognized for institutionalizing structured quality assurance systems within India’s public healthcare framework and for serving as India’s first District Quality Assurance Officer and first State Quality Assurance Officer.
He has held senior leadership positions in the National Health Authority (NHA) and the National Medical Commission (NMC), Government of India. His work has centered on accreditation systems, quality standards implementation, public hospital reforms, and strengthening universal health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
