Indian MPs Visit Arctic MedTech Innovations Led by Prof. Krishna Agarwal refers to a high-level knowledge-exchange programme held on 7 November 2025 in Tromsø, Norway. A delegation of young Members of Parliament from India visited the medtech innovation ecosystem at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, where Prof. Krishna Agarwal showcased award-winning research in reproductive and diagnostic health technology.
The event was facilitated by *ProTromsø* and attended by representatives from UN Women and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi, underscoring the growing Indo–Norwegian cooperation in science and healthcare innovation.

Prof. Krishna Agarwal, Founder & CEO of *Spermotile* and a Professor at UiT, presented advancements in:
- microfluidics
- artificial intelligence
- optical imaging
- sustainable health devices
Her flagship innovation, Spermotile, is an AI-driven microfluidic system that enhances sperm selection for IVF/ICSI using precision motion analytics. The technology has been recognised internationally for its potential to transform assisted reproductive procedures.
The MPs discussed the implications of these technologies for India’s rapidly growing digital health and fertility sectors.
Prof. Krishna Agarwal’s Research and Career
Prof. Agarwal shared her academic and professional journey, which includes:

- PhD – National University of Singapore
- Postdoctoral Research – Singapore–MIT Alliance
- Leadership roles in Norwegian medtech innovation
She currently leads a 20-member interdisciplinary research group at UiT, with a cumulative research portfolio exceeding €23 million in competitive grants.
