Vidur Maheswari (born 11 June 1994) is an Indian entrepreneur and the founder of Chai Waale, a quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain offering tea-centric beverages and snacks. Known for redefining tea cafés in South India, he has grown Chai Waale into a popular urban lifestyle brand headquartered in Chennai.
Early Life and Education
Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Maheswari studied at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kilpauk. In 2012, he moved to the United Kingdom for higher education, earning a BSc in Business Management from King’s College London.
While in London, he enhanced his academic profile by attending a program in Corporate Governance and Corporate Finance at Harvard University in 2014.
Career
In 2018, Maheswari established Chai Waale Trades Private Limited, introducing Chai Waale as a QSR chain designed to provide affordable and hygienic tea cafés for India’s millennial and Gen-Z audiences.
The company soon expanded through partnerships with organizations including Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Chennai Metro Rail Limited, and popular retail hubs like Phoenix Marketcity. Outlets have also been launched at select IIT campuses.
